Apple Picking

Yesterday we went apple picking with my sister-in-law & fam and it was a great time! It was a first time for me and I loved it. It was a BEAUTIFUL day out and it was nice to relax and spend the day doing something very fall-ish! I loved that they also had pumpkins there, yay for pumpkins! We came home with a basket of apples and some FANTASTIC pics!

HAPPY FALL! :-)

25 Years Old!

Well, I'm a quarter of a century old now! I had a great time celebrating my birthday with some great people! Thursday night I went out to dinner with my family at Swiss Chalet, Friday night was dinner with my Dad, and then Saturday my mom was lucky enough to babysit while we went out with some friends (thanks mom!) ;)

I got some spoiled by my family & friends! My husband and son bought me a DSLR camera and I am so excited! You can look forward to some better quality pictures from now on! Spoiled rotten.

I can't believe I'm twenty-five! Wowza! A lot of good happened this year and despite the fact that I'm getting older (and closer to 30!) I am excited about the future with my family!

...Until next year!

Newborn Photos

My sister-in-law did Mason's newborn shoot and the pics are way too cute! He is so much bigger and looks so differently already, hard to believe!! Here are a couple of the shots edited so far :)

1 Month Old!

Wow! It is hard to believe Mason has been here for a full month now!! Time flies when you're having fun! This month has been a whirlwind of visitors, broken-up sleep, and getting use to being a family of three. We have spent many hours cuddling Mason and getting to know his personality... and I love it!!

I feel like Mason has never been the typical newborn... he is wide awake throughout most of the day (so alert and taking everything in), sleeping most of the night, has cried only a handful of times, and seems to be doing a lot of things that newborns usually can't do. He can lift his head for 5 seconds by himself (then he head butts you), and tries to roll over (he has made it onto his side three times). We are constantly laughing at the things he does... he spends a good 5-10 minutes stretching before he will actually wake up (and makes the cutest face doing it-something we have nicknamed "Mase face"), he sounds like an animal when he eats, he smiles at all the right times, loves to stare at himself in the mirror, holds his own pacifier in his mouth, loves music, loves looking out windows, and is obsessed with staring at the wall of pictures in our living room. He hates taking baths, but will tolerate it if he can hold his Dad's hand, hates hiccups, hates being naked or cold, hates swaddles, and will suck on and lick your face, arms, neck, etc when he is hungry-which is ALL the time! He is in the 85th percentile for length and the 50th for weight... the nurse said he is "long and lean". Most people comment on how good and quiet he is and we have to say we're pretty lucky to have him! :-)

HAPPY ONE MONTH MASON!

Age: 1 month
Length: 21 inches
Weight: 8lbs, 9oz (as of Aug 30th... weight update on Sept 12th)
Clothes: Wearing mostly newborn still but growing out of some of his sleepers because of his long legs! He is in a couple of 0-3 month sleepers and a couple 3 month onesie's. He is too long for newborn, but too thin for 3 months.
Food: Lots and lots of breast milk
Hair: Blonde (eyelashes & eyebrows too)
Eyes: Blue
Other features: Long legs, pouty lips, cowlick, long eyelashes

OUR ONE MONTH FAVORITES:

One: Zip Up Sleepers (Carters) These are great because we don't have to fight with our squirmer to get the buttons done up, just ZIP! They also are awesome because they have sleeves that flip over into mittens, fave!
Two: WubbaNub's I love these because he can hold onto them, you don't lose them like regular pacifiers, AND... they're pretty cute!!
Three: Blanket (Carters) This is the only non-fleece or furry blanket that we got and it works like a dream in the car seat or for naps in the bassinet because it doesn't move (even when he kicks it, it just lumps down at the bottom of his feet)... saves me from having a heart attack when he is sleeping.
Four: Live Clean These baby soap products are eco-friendly and organic so they are safe for baby and the earth, bonus! Plus, you will NOT find a better smelling product...and I'll admit, I pour some into my own bath and lather on some of the cream from time to time! :)
Five: Jolly Jumper Babysitter Pillow I could not get comfortable nursing Mason, I tried everything... a my brest friend pillow, other jolly jumper pillows, and this is the only one that worked for me. It helps get him to the right level for me and fits around me nicely. It is saving my back! You can also sit your baby inside of it and it props them out for play time and sometimes Mason will fall asleep and take propped up.
Six: Snap & Go Stroller LOVE! This thing is AWESOME. It's light and it's SUPER easy. You just unfold it, take your stroller and snap it on... then you GO! My other stroller is huge and has three all-terrain wheels so it's not very ideal for malls and places like that. I use my other stroller for walks and rough areas and the snap & go for just going around town and groceries and what not! It's also a bonus that I got it second hand for $35! Score!
Seven: Pampers Swaddler Diapers & Huggies All Natural Wipes. Over the last 4 weeks we have tried many brands of diapers and wipes and these are the favorites. The diapers don't leak, they have a stripe in the front that lets you know if the diaper is wet and cute little sesame street characters. The Huggies wipes are sensitive and have no scent, they are thicker than most other brands of wipes and that way we use less!
Eight: Taggies Play Gym This gym has provided a lot of entertainment for Mason already. I put him on it when he was a little over 1 week and he loved it! He loves the music, the bright colors, and of course-the mirror! The taggies are great for when he gets older since they love to put them in their mouth.
Nine: Lorex Video Monitor This monitor is the BOMB. We can put Mason down for a nap and watch him from any room in the house with the cordless monitor. It also plays lullabies, has a two-way talk option, a recording option, an alarm so you know when baby is moving or crying, and you can use it with skype on your smart phones, woop! Video monitors are the only way to go! No more running in to see what's up!

It's hard to imagine Mason getting any older and I know it's going to happen very quickly. One month flew by and I'm sure before I know it I will be writing the 2 month post... eek! :( I am excited to see him learn/do more things and experience more! We are in love with this beautiful boy and cannot imagine life without him!
