Christmas Catch up!

I always say to myself that I will blog once every couple of days or at least once a week, but I fail. I will get better, I will, I will!

Christmas is coming right up! 22 Days left! I still have loads of shopping to do... I just can't bring myself to wade through the crowds at the malls, Black Friday was enough for me! Since my last post, I have started decorating, watching Christmas movies, put the tree up, watched a Christmas parade... LOTS has happened. Here are some pics of the last couple weeks!

 My niece's first parade!

Now.... my finals are in 12 days, which pretty much means I will be in sweat pants every day with my face glued to my text books.... but they are both over, bring on the Christmas holiday & more blog posts, I promise!

Tis the season!

Christmas is less than 40 days away, it's so hard to believe! I have been holding off on decorating and listening to holiday tunes... but I can no longer refrain. This weekend, it's onnnnnnn. I plan on going Griswold on our house. Lights everywhere, ornaments, garland, stockings......weeeeee! I will most definitely put up some photos when it's finished! Tomorrow night is also our city's Christmas Parade! Pumped! Even though I am no longer a child, I still feel like a kid when I go to the parade! I'm looking forward to mittens, scarves, hot cocoa and of course, the marching bands and SANTA! OMG, SANTA! I KNOW HIM! (Christmas movie reference. Better get use to it.)

I have to start downloading my Christmas playlist... and watching Christmas movies! Staying true to my-too-organized-self, I made a list of flicks to watch over the next month! Here are my favorites:

1. Home Alone- I like it, I love it, can't get enough of it. I try so hard, I can't riiiiiise above it. Done.
2. Home Alone 2- funnnnay movie. Sit down, grab some snacks, make it a night & watch em both in a row.
3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- a classic, no need to say anymore.
4.  The Grinch- Jim Carrey version, or cartoon, whatever you prefer.
5. The Santa Clause & 2 & 3- Loved these movies as a kid, still do!
6. Elf- Just do it.
7. The Polar Express- Good for the kiddies and good for you!
8. Jack Frost- Watch it before the Winter season is over, a tear jerker that's for sure!

Now for some movies that are a little less classic but still a whole lot awesome:

9. Fred Claus- Love me some Vince Vaughn...and as an added bonus=Ludacris! Score.
10. Four Christmases- Vince Vaughn! Vince Vaughn! This one is hilarious.
11. Deck The Halls- VINCE VAUGHN!!!! I kid, I kid. Danny Devito is the worst neighbor of all time, at Christmas.
12. Christmas with The Kranks- I don't know what it is about Tim Allen, but, he does Christmas well.
Last and definitely least, Jingle All The Way. I so dislike this movie but hubby would've killed me if I left it off of the list. Trust me when I say, once you've watched it once, you don't need to see it again, ever, ever, ever again. Don't get roped into watching it every year like I am.......

Cannot wait to get started with Christmas, it's my FAVORITE time of year, hands down.

Happy Halloween!

Alright, I totally went in a different direction for our costumes... I couldn't find any good red wigs so the Poison Ivy idea was out for this year, along with all the other Batman costumes. Our Halloween party was a success and our costumes looked even better than I hoped they would!

Enjoy some of the pics from our party, people got real creative :)

DAY OF THE DEAD (her make-up took close to two and a half hours and she did it herself!)

MERMAID (her mom made this costume from scratch!)

MRS. PAC MAN (She made this costume herself!)

Even the pup dressed up as a pirate! (She refused to have her picture taken)

One of my favorite things from the party was the pumpkin dip, idea curtesy of Pinterest of course! Just cut the top off of a pumpkin, clean it out, fill with dip and put the cover back on!

And finally................ our Halloween costumes for 2012: POPEYE & OLIVE OYL!

Tonight I plan on staying home to give out treats to the whoppin' 5 kids who will make the long march down our driveway to get to us... and I'll probably watch Hocus Pocus because it is tradition... and I LOVE IT! Happy Halloween!

I love Fall!

It's almost Thanksgiving & then comes Halloween... this is why I love Fall! I am so looking forward to dinner at my grandmothers house on Sunday and then at the in laws on Monday, looooove turkey and family dinners!!

I've been spending all of my online time at work searching for Halloween decorations and trying to find a costume for our Halloween party! Here are some of my costume ideas... I guess I really like Batman characters ;)

I really like the Poison Ivy costume... so I'm leaning towards picking that one! Now I just have to find some fake leaves and a red wig.. and figure out how to make the eyebrows (are those eyebrows?!).

There are some AWESOME Halloween party ideas on Pinterest, check out my inspiration board: https://pinterest.com/cv18/halloween/

Happy Thanksgiving!
