Baby Easter Basket Ideas

This year is Mason's first Easter and even though he hasn't got a clue what is going on, I am still excited to do up an Easter basket for him. I thought making a basket for a baby would be more difficult, but it turned out pretty easy to come up with ideas (and find items!).

Items I put into Mason's basket:
-Sun hat
-First Easter bib
-Carrot baby food (ha!)
-Big plastic Easter eggs to play with
-Books (Oh, the Places You'll Go & Peter Cottontail)
-Stuffed bunny: Indigo

Next year will be a bit more exciting for him as he will be nearly 2, and will get to hunt for little eggs in the house & yard. For now, the basket is as festive as we get!

Nursery Update

Mason's nursery is FINALLY all finished. It was done and ready for him when he arrived, but now all the little extra touches are done!

We have added a name banner over his crib (I knew I wanted to do this as soon as I purchased the tree decal-to make it look like it is hanging between the two trees.) We added to his reading corner, and added a couple more small touches throughout the room. Enjoy the pics!!

Last night I got a little crafty and made a door sign for Mason's nursery. I love how it turned out! All you need to make this is a big wooden letter of your choice, smaller wooden letters to spell out the name you want to spell, a hot glue gun & glue, acrylic paint & paintbrushes, and a cute little wooden animal or cut out of your choice (at Michael's there are a lot of cute different options!). You can use ribbon as the tie to hang on the door, which is what I chose to do.

First I painted the M, and while that was drying I painted the smaller letters. After everything was dry I glued the smaller letters on the big M, and glued on the elephant. Once it was all dry I wrapped the ribbon an hung on the door. So simple!! :)

Time for you to get crafty ;)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is always exciting because it means we're just a couple of days away from Spring! This year, there is still a lot of snow down and probably more coming, so I don't think Spring is here just yet. :( Here's hoping the flowers & birds and just around the corner!

For now, enjoy some pictures of my little leprechaun!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Riley & Calvin

I have been taking weekly photography classes to learn how to use my camera. I want to be awesome at it so I've been practicing TONS! I did my first non-Mason photoshoot yesterday. Here is the result! I love them :)

I love winter photos, but I hate winter!! I'm ready to see Spring!! It was freezing in the wind so I'm very pleased with the way they turned out! Yay!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day..... it means LOVE, red, and the start of the end of Winter, what is there not to like about it?!

This year, we made each other gifts since it requires more thought... and my husband shocked my by making a slideshow of our life together since 2005! It was so sweet! I also got roses & dinner, spoiled!!

Little photo shoot I did of Mason to celebrate! :)

anddddd............. HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVE PUPPY LACEY <3

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYBODY!!

6 months!

Mason is 6 months old.... HALF A YEAR!! I don't know where the time went?! I say it every month, I know, but this time... I can't believe it! The last 6 months definitely went by in a flash!!

We have hit a major teething month.  He is fussy, cranky, and just generally not himself. Although, I say he is all of these things... he is still really well behaved. He is SUCH a good baby, and we got very lucky (I'm sure I will be eating my words with his future sibling!)

Recently he started to yell and the sound sounds a bit like a dolphin... it's really high pitched and happy. He started drinking water, eating foods, and just being a big boy all around :( When I look through old pictures I can't believe he is so big now! I have a full bin of his old clothing already... growing up SUCKS.

I think we are getting really close to having a mobile baby on our hands! If we put him down on his belly on the floor he pulls himself all around the room and can go quite a distance in a couple of minutes.

Age: 6 months
Length: 67 cm's
Weight: 16 lbs, 8 oz (as of the day after his 6 month mark)
Clothes: 6 months and getting tighter in length.
Food: Eggs, Chicken, Cereal, Milk (of course), Carrots, Bananas
Hair: Blonde (eyelashes & eyebrows too)
Eyes: Blue
Other features: Long legs, pouty lips, cowlick, long eyelashes, chubby cheeks, long fingers, small feet

I know the next 6 months will fly... so I'm going to soak it all up! :)

5 months!

I thought that I had posted the 5 month post... but I never did! Oops! Baby brain! Well, here it is.... a month late ;)

This month Mason started napping regularly through the day and is still sleeping through the night (roughly 10 hours a night). Although he isn't much of a napper, there are days where he will have one big nap and the rest very small. Other days, he will nap every half hour for ten minutes (those days aren't so fun!). He slept in his crib this month for the first time. He has found his feet and also rolls over onto his belly. He can sit up in his highchair and can sit on the floor and play. This month Mason learned how to splash in the bath tub and unfortunately his teething is getting worse.

Every month is my new favorite age, it is just so exciting to see all the new things he can do. This month was really exciting because of the sitting up and the rolling! It was great to see the gradual lead up to it and then one day BAM! he's got it!

Age: 5 months
Length: 65 cm's
Weight: 14 lbs, 7 oz.
Clothes: 3-6 months
Food: Lots and lots of breast milk
Hair: Blonde (eyelashes & eyebrows too)
Eyes: Blue
Other features: Long legs, pouty lips, cowlick, long eyelashes, chubby cheeks, long fingers, small feet

6 months to come REALLY soon.... this time I won't forget!
